Jill Steenhuis and her husband Serge Ruffato live and work as artists in their bastide-style Provençal home in the countryside of Aix-en-Provence. Jill spends her days painting en plein air and filling the walls of her studio, a replica of Cézanne’s painting studio in Aix, built by her husband. Serge works on his craft from the family foundry “Abeille Fonderie” alongside their sons, who are all involved as artists using various mediums. The Steenhuis-Ruffato family currently lives and works as a sort of artist collective, each involved in their own artistic endeavors while benefiting from a shared spirit of collaboration and creative inspiration.
