ANCIENT SPACES SHOWCASE BRAND NEW ART — Once again we are thrilled to be exhibiting our work in the beautiful Galerie de la Prévôté here in Aix. The 11th century building and courtyard, nestled just under the magnificent Cathédrale Saint-Sauveur, is an oasis from the bustling streets of Aix and a perfect place to showcase our oil paintings, lithographs and sculptures.
A special family affair
This year marks our 13th annual family exhibition, a June tradition and the only time of the year the four of us will exhibit together. I’m thrilled to share a link to a post written about our show by Lynne, a local blogger on her page Aixcentric. Read the post here.
A note on French Culture
The Vernissage, which means the night before the show opens, is historically the night that the artists would invite their intimate friends to see their newest work before the show. Friends would celebrate the event while the artists would varnish their work, hence Vernissage. These days it’s a chance for us to let our hair down after weeks of preparation for the show and to catch up with friends old and new.
What a wonderful vernissage we had on June 8th with so many coming to see our art.
One of my red “sold” dots jumped onto Odile’s jacket.
I said, “Odile, you are vendue!”
and her new boyfriend said, “Oui, she is taken.”
Such happy news.
I love a love story and how destiny can orchestrate some happy circumstances.
The show will continue for another week, until June 24th.The gallery is open every day from 10:00-12:00 and 14:00-19:00. We would love to see you there! |
Once the show ends, Jill’s new work will be posted to her online gallery. Click here to see her most recent work.
