Workshops in Provence – Accommodations

Workshops in Provence —

Aix-en-Provence - 8 DAYS

All Levels Welcome

We are happy to make housing arrangements for you, or let you make them on their own!
All of the housing options that we offer are hand-selected for optimal comfort and home-like atmosphere to perfectly accommodate painters during their stay. Apartments are located in the heart of Aix-en-Provence within easy walking distance to restaurants, cafés, shops and the daily meeting point.

If you are seeking something very specific or are traveling as a couple, the best option may be to make your own arrangements.

Travel Tips —

GETTING HERE
Book your flight into one of the following airports:
Paris – arrive in Paris then take a very convenient highspeed train (TGV) to the Aix TGV station.
Marseille Provence – a quick 25-minute drive from Aix
Nice – it’s almost 2 hours by taxi/Uber and there are option to take a bus or SNCF train

GROUND TRANSPORTATION
Jill will be there to pick you up at the Marseille airport or the Aix TGV station, and she will also drop you off for your return (regardless of how early you may need to leave!)
During the workshop, ground transportation to and from your lodging, as well as to the various painting sites, is included in the workshop cost. Your evenings and shopping time in Aix-en-Provence will be on foot, so there is no need for a car!

PLANNING YOUR TRIP
We highly recommend that you come a day early to adjust to jetlag and get settled in Aix. You also might enjoy staying a day or two more to unwind after the workshop is over. Please note that this workshop includes limited free time. Of course, there are a few open slots in the schedule here or there, and a few evenings to wander around the streets of Aix, but the workshop tends to be quite intense.

We are happy to put you in touch with a local/regional tour guide if you decide to extend your stay!

HEALTH CONSIDERATIONS
It is important to note that the workshop requires good physical condition. We will often be painting outdoors, walking on uneven terrain, and also going on excursions that will involve lots of walking. If you have any health concerns or dietary restrictions, please let us know.

TRAVEL INSURANCE
We highly encourage you to purchase travel insurance before coming on this trip. We recommend American Express or Travelex.
