SPRINGTIME IN PROVENCE SALE
For four years, I received a truly incredible education at Sweet Briar. I studied art history and had extensive technical training in all mediums of expression – painting, drawing, printmaking, sculpture and photography. Upon graduation, I felt more like a scientist than an artist, as my art education stemmed from the interdisciplinary approach embraced by the college.
This hybrid approach to art not only enriched my creative practice but also broadened my perspective, challenging me to think critically and creatively in equal measure. In hindsight, I realize that this unique blend of artistry and scientific inquiry has become a defining aspect of my artistic identity, shaping the way I approach my work and inspiring me to explore the endless possibilities that lie at the intersection of art and science.
In addition to my education, I was also surrounded by a sisterhood of like-minded individuals who shared my passions, aspirations, and values. I forged deep and meaningful connections that have endured long beyond graduation. Even as we’ve pursued different paths and embarked on our own life journeys, the bond we formed at Sweet Briar remains unbreakable, serving as a source of strength, inspiration, and joy throughout the years.
I would like to share a poem that I wrote about Sweet Briar friendships:
Our friendships from Sweet Briar are
Stronger than diamonds,
Worth more than gold.
It is the treasure that never grows old.
The treasures of Sweet Briar are found on no star,
They’re waiting for you
Just look in your heart.
Each piece in this collection serves as a testament to the beauty of the world around us, the importance of education in shaping our futures, and the joy of sharing our passions with others. Thank you for joining me in celebrating art and friendship.
