Summer workshops in 2023 have been joy-filled, inspiring experiences shared with wonderfully creative, beautiful people. Grateful for each person who has taken the journey to paint with me in Provence. You have all climbed your own mountain within you and joined me in the dance.
One of my favorite new experiences has been connecting with people to paint together virtually. Over the past two years I have been working to develop my online oil painting classes. Today I am pleased to offer a course that includes ten hours of live instruction, painting demonstrations, art critique and video tutorials. Now you can meet me in my studio and paint with me from anywhere in the world!
Summer workshops in Provence are back! This was a week of exploring Provence and walking in the footsteps of Cézanne and Van Gogh. We experienced the creative process, learned to mix a harmonious palette of colors and spent lots of time painting plein air. Not to mention the culinary and musical delights shared with new friends.
This summer Jill ventured out to the American West, in the heart of the the Rocky Mountains where she and Sergio gave art shows in Montana, Wyoming, and Colorado.
This summer May, July and September, Jill hosted artists in her 8-day oil-painting workshops. The groups journeyed throughout Provence, to Cézanne’s art studio, followed in the footsteps of Van Gogh in Saint-Rémy and captured local scenes on canvas (port of Cassis, market in Aix), and more!
In the heat of July, Provence is colored in shades of purple as the lavender flowers bloom, releasing their sweet, heady scent.
SPRINGTIME IN PROVENCE — An unusually rainy spring led to more bountiful flowers in the landscape for my two oil-painting workshops in May. In spite of some rainy days, we journeyed out en plein air to experience nature and allow our inner poetry to emerge on the canvas.

My July oil painting workshop is in full swing – we are having a good time. Palette mixing, painting the wheat fields of Provence and the Mediterranean from Cassis. Off to Arles tomorrow to paint in the spirit of Van Gogh and to see his beautiful work at the Fondation Vincent Van Gogh.
